now that we’re settling in…

from our back door

The nasty weather needs to go away now. It’s getting really old. We’ve had one day of sunshine since arriving in Missouri 9 days ago. There’s been lots of flooding and tornadoes in the surrounding area to keep us cooped up in the house the rest of the time. I have to say, though, that I’m pleasantly surprised at how beautiful this part of the country is. Lots of rolling hills, giant trees, and colorful wildlife are just begging to be photographed. I can’t wait to get out to take some pictures! Tons of old farmhouses and rusty cars abound… Yay for HDR!

I took the picture above from our back door. Behind the back fence is a very large, open field that is lined with lots of large trees. Despite looking dead, the trees are finally starting to get little leaf buds on them. Spring is on her way, she just keeps getting flooded out. Well, it’s supposedly going to stop raining this weekend but I don’t believe it. I’m keeping my fingers crossed! Hopefully, on Monda, I’ll come armed with tons of cool new pics of the Missouri countryside. Here’s to hoping…
