winter storm ‘08: before & after

So the past couple of days have been really nasty here in SF. It hasn’t been that cold (45 degrees) but when you combine it with sideways rain, it’s not fun (especially if you don’t own a car). Thurday night was the worst with a major downpour and 80 mph (!) winds. The next day, the streets were littered with lots of trash, uprooted trees and branches. Click below to see more pics.

This morning, we walked down to Ocean Beach to survey the damage. We couldn’t believe how much the beach itself had changed:

Another big storm is supposed to hit some time today or tomorrow. Isn’t global warming fun?
